"MCDPH was my first and only choice for a dietetic internship! This program was the perfect blend of traditional rotations, such as school nutrition and clinical, and unique public health-focused experiences. I wanted to be a part of an internship that emphasized the importance of dietitians in the public health and community nutrition setting and empowered future dietitians to be passionate about this area of nutrition. I was born and raised here in Phoenix, AZ and truly enjoyed gaining exposure to and learning from dietitians in my community, whether I was training at a hospital for my clinical rotation or writing a grant for school health and wellness funding during my rotation at MCDPH. I would strongly recommend this program to anyone who is dedicated to public health nutrition and excited to engage with the AZ community. My advice to future applicants would be to emphasize how your experiences are tied to public health in your application – even if you have not spent time working specifically in this area, think about how the knowledge and skills you have gained could be applied in a public health setting."
